Freaks of the Gym: Boot Camp Bob

Posted by Sam Kressin in Freaks of the Gym

Illustrated and written by me circa 2004. This is part of a series I did titled “Freaks of the Gym.” It was inspired by real people and heavily influenced by Mad Magazine. Check out my other Freaks of the Gym posts here; Moses, Checkered Shorts Guy, Propeller Head, Ken.

A hot headed, blow hard, failed football player (American), turned personal trainer / high school weight lifting coach. Boot Camp Bob will “break you down” in order to try and “build you up.” Contstantly reminiscing about his glory days Boot Camp is ready to fight anyone who disrespects him including 12 year olds. This guy loves to quote movies like Rambo and Rocky and believes his reputation as a bad ass qualifies him as the best trainer ever.

STEAM coming off the tope of his head some wonder if he’s cooking food under that hat.

NAVY baseball cap given to him by someone who actually served in the Military.

WHISTLE blows it every chance he gets.

SGT. SLAUGHTER tank top his favorite wresterl turned G.I. Joe action figure.

“Mrs. Smith Drop Down and Give me 50 Ten Hut!”

RAMBO style survivel knife in case he gets lost some where between his neighborhood and the gym.

CAMOUFLAGE pants his favorite pair.

COMBAT BOOTS would never war any other type of shoe even to the beach.
