Walter Peregoy is best known for his background paintings in a number of Disney feature-length animated films. Later became known for his grumpy deminer and speaking the uncensored truth about the old days working in animation. Peregoy passed way earlier this year.

I got this Batman Sketch from comic book artist Tom Raney at the San Diego Comic Con Circa 1991. Raney was an unknown artist at the time trying to break into comics. I thought this batman sketch was one of the most awesome kick ass depictions I’d ever scene of my favorite superhero. This sketch hung on my wall and sat next to my drawing board for years.
Today I look back on this sketch and it drives me crazy how batman’s bicep is drawn because a bicep does not tie into the deltoid like that. Batman’s abdominals and triceps are completely incorrect as well as the rest of the his anatomy. The head is too small in proprtion to the rest of Batman’s body. Yet even with all these errors it still looks cool. Perhaps some day I will ink this sketch myself and correct it.

1. Inorder to improve you will need to learn by doing.
2. White boards make people feel like they are in school or a formal educational setting. School is boring and formal education isn’t fun.
3. The class becomes too cerebral the white board will take you out of your body and put you back into your head.
4. Those who are inclined to learn the white board way usually are already very good at understanding mechanics, concepts and principals on an intellectual level but unable performe their understanding physically.

I remember when this game was in every 7-11 and Arcade across the nation. There’s nothing cooler than two guys with blue and pink jeans some vests walking through the streets taking out a Gang with the side kicks, hair grabs and knees to get the girl friend back from the Big Boss.

This is a cool Chuck Norris Karate Kammando Illustration by former Disney Animator Tom Bancroft. Tom did this illustration of Chuck in 2014 at my request during the time I was one of his supports on Patreon. Eventually I had to cancell my pledge in order to save money in an effort to allocate more funds towards making my own comics.

Found this old fight card from a Super Brawl event I attended the year 2000. People new to MMA don’t understand at this time these events were illegal in majority of the States in the U.S. including California. Hawaii was one of the places that allowed sanctioned MMA fights to take place. Erik Paulson, Matt Huges and Rumina Sato were just a few of the fighters I saw compete before the general public even had a clue about what MMA was. Living in Hawaii at the time I was able to watch a lot of the Japanese Shoot fighters which eventually led me to seek out instruction in Catch Wrestling under the great Billy Robinson.

I am making this post simply as additional documented proof that I have infact been doing this stuff and have been training in it all as long as I say I have.
This was a tough tournament just look who’s on these posted results Ron Shiraki who today is one the few Relson Gracie’s Black Belts won the Heavy Weight Purple Belt Division. MMA Fighter from the early days Ron Jhun won the heavy weight no gi advanced division and MMA veteran Falaniko Vitale also won his weight class.

Recently I posted a short interview with Dr. Stephen Boyanton (PhD) about his research examining a number of epidemiological factors taking place during the time the Shang Han Lun was compiled and how those factors influenced its rise in popularity, fame and usefulness. In this lecture on the emergence of the Wen Bing school (the school of Warm Disease Theory) sheds further incite into how the Shang Han Lung text (Treaties On Cold Theory) was complied and rose to such great fame.

I discovered this Night Of The Living Dead comic book adaptation at the San Diego Comic Con circa 1992. The book was illustrated by a French artist named Carlos Kastro who was attending the convention. I watched him do many sketches for fans he would seamlessly transitions between pencil, pen, ink, brush, white out and so on. He told me it doesn’t matter which tools you use (brushes, pens, paper ect) as long as you know what it does. This Kastro drew with everything. Here is the sketch he did inside my comic book with just white out. He literally used liquid paper white out that comes in a bottle with the cap that has a brush attached to it.
Not long after watching Kastro draw quick sketches of skulls and zombies inside everyone’s comic books. I immediately took to practicing them myself drawing them upon every worksheet, piece of paper, note-book or homework assignment I was ever given during high school. Then one day in english class I drew a grouping of skulls on the top of a hand out near my name. The teacher saw the image of death laden upon my sheet of paper pointed to it and said; “I don’t like that kind of thing!” I knew I was on the right track.
The next year I returned to San Diego Comic Con and Carlos Kastro was back! He had the second issue with him. Here is the quick sketch he did for me inside my comic.

Fortune Red was originally apart of a Pirate themed Arcade Museum in Disneyland circa 1967. Today the still functioning animatronic fortune-telling machine sits outside near the exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean Disneyland ride. Red dispenses 24 different cards featuring a cartoon and fortune on one side and the history of the Jolly Roger on the other side. Here is the card I got the last time I visited Disneyland approximately 2 years ago.

Howard Simpson had never worked on the Simpson’s but he drew the Simpson’s on everything because they shared the same last name. Dan Barry drew the Indiana Jones he penciled a Dark Horse Series titled, “Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.” The half circle and full circle with squiggly lines in the lower corner is Rob Liefield and that’s suppose to be Deadpool LOL. The Daredevil sketch is by Ron Garney he made it out to my Brother Seth who was with me and around ten years old at the time. Of course Sergio Aragones did a cool Groo Sketch and Stan Sakai did a cool Usagi Yojimbo.

I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu informally in 1995 with Trent Suzuki a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt who had trained with Rorion in Torrance during the garage days. Trent was one of my Karate / Tang Soo Do Instructors. He taught me what the guard was a basic arm bar, collar choke and to pass the guard. Training with Trent I didn’t practice a lot of transitions and escapes but focused more on striking and would plug in the Jiu-Jitsu techniques as it came about. Prior to this I already had several years of high school wrestling. A few years later in 1998 I began formally training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Joao Morias. This was a fun tournament we flew from Oahu over to Maui to compete with the other schools in Hawaii at the time.

If you are unfamilar with this book the Shang Han Lun was complied around the year 200 by a Chinese physician named Zhang Zhonjing. It is one of the oldest clinical text books in the worlds and covers a number of herbal formulas used for the treatment of infectious disease. The research by Dr. Stephen Boyanton (PhD) examines a number of epidemiological factors taking place during the time the Shang Han Lun was compiled which may influences it’s rise in popularity, fame and usefullness to the physicans of both it’s time and the modern era. The Karate Kid has for a long time been one of my all time favorite movies. I saw the film in the theater and it blew my mind. Now with this video out I don’t know what to think. It changes everything. Is Daniel really the Bully? or is this just an example of how someone can spin just about anything to mean something else.
